Aberdeen’s upmarket wine bar Grape & Grain has picked up its third award in less than two months after being named Best Bar in the Trend Life with Style Awards.
In April, the bar which opened on the city’s Thistle Street last September won the Best Wine Selection category in the Molson Coors Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards and last month was named New Operator of the Year in the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) Scotland Annual Awards.
“This latest award is recognition of an incredible team effort by all the staff at Grape & Grain,” said proprietor Jeanette Forbes. “Since launch we have worked very hard to create a venue that Aberdeen can be proud of and it is fantastic to be recognised in this way. We always judge how well we are doing by the feedback from our customers, getting this award makes all the hard work worth it.”
Grape & Grain has enjoyed remarkable success since launch. Earlier this year, it was nominated as one of Scotland’s most stylish bars in the Scottish Style Awards, was the only Aberdeen venue to be featured in the Sunday Herald’s 25 Most Fabulously Fashionable Places to be seen in Scotland. Its owner Jeanette Forbes also received a Special Commendation in Business Women Scotland’s Bar of the Year (Female Manager) category in the BWS Hospitality and Tourism Awards.
Jeanette, a well-known city businesswomen and CEO of PCL Group, created Grape & Grain in response to being told at the start of the oil and gas downturn that the only way to survive would be through diversification.
