KEY COMMUNICATIONS

KEY Communications was established in 2012 by Kate Yuill a former journalist, experienced business writer and public relations adviser.  Based in Aberdeenshire, KEY Communications works with companies across all sectors in the UK and overseas. These range from international oil and gas operators and contractors to business start-ups and award-winning SMEs in Food & Drink, Hospitality, Finance & Business Support, Trades, Professional Services and the Third Sector. KEY Communications services include press releases and media advice and support, copywriting for websites and brochures, award entry submissions, blogs, newsletters, feature writing, business and political event support and event management. She also works with other agencies to provide ER support and media training.

KEY Communications works with companies of all sizes across all sectors in North-east Scotland, across the UK and on a global basis. Clients range from sole traders and SMEs up to major players in the energy sector.

KATE YUILL

In addition to running her own company, Kate Yuill has worked on a consultancy basis with a number of other agencies and organisations. She worked with Rodger and Co, Technical Event Specialists, helping deliver SPE and ICoTA conferences and seminars for several years. Through her association with Rodger and Co, she provided PR support for the Energy Institute, IADC and ICoTA. Other projects included being a member of the Reed Exhibitions Media Team at Offshore Europe and Media Training and Emergency Response Communications Support for a number of North-east agencies.

She has provided short term support for Scottish Fire and Rescue as a media officer covering North Scotland and to Robert Gordon University as a communications officer

Kate began her career as a journalist, working in Scotland and Canada. She started as a news reporter before becoming a features writer and columnist. She was the first Lifestyle Editor of the Aberdeen Press & Journal and the Welland Tribune, Ontario, Canada.

Prior to setting up KEY Communications, she was Policy & Communications Manager at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce. A member of the senior management team, she was responsible for the Chamber’s communications, media relations, government relations and policy development and was editor of the Business Bulletin.

Before joining the Chamber Kate was Public Affairs Officer for Aberdeen City Council, leading all communications and liaison with the UK, EU and Scottish governments. Prior to taking on that role she was the Council’s Communications Officer with overall responsibility for all internal and external newsletters.
