The Ngamia field operated by Tullow Oil and the Africa Oil Corporation is expected to be one of the pioneering producing fields in Kenya. With production due to start in 20120 the appraisal activities are almost complete and work will soon begin on field development planning. In preparation for this, work is underway to identify an artificial lift system that will achieve optimum production rates and the best economic return. How is this shaping up? Lucy Obwogo of the National Oil Corporation of Kenya will present an update at the 2016 European Artificial Lift Forum which takes place in Aberdeen on June 8th and 9th. At the same Forum and at the other end of the scale, Kia Katoozi from TAQA Bratani will discuss alternatives which have been identified to avoid premature abandonment of the North Sea’s Otter Field.
